ESITO is currently reviewing the following qualifications:

Cable Jointer (Specialist) Level 5
Line Mechanic (Live Work) Level 5

ESITO is reviewing both of the above qualifications and welcomes industry comment and/or participation on the steering groups. These reviews will be conducted during February and March. In particular the question of stranding glove and barrier work from hot stick is being considered in live work.

Cable Jointer Levels 3 & 4

ESITO is considering dropping unit standard 20877 from the Cable Jointer Level 3 qualification in order to better align the qualification with the Cable Jointer registration requirements. The industry steering group has been consulted and we welcome comments from the wider industry by 12 February 2010.

Industry has requested ESITO to amend the elective section of the Cable Jointer High Voltage Level 4 qualification in order to ensure the requirements of the elective cannot be fulfiled using standards previously obtained through the Cable Jointer Level 3 qualification. A copy of the proposal can be found below; please ensure any comments reach us by 18 February 2010.
