Electrical

The ESITO electrical qualifications will enable you to gain electrical registration as an electricity supply electrician, technician, or electrical fitter. There are three qualifications, at Level 2, 3, and 4. The qualifications have strands, enabling you to specialise in your chosen field. Registration is gained when you complete the Level 4 qualification.

Qualification  Level  Description 
National Certificate in Electricity Supply 2   This is an entry level qualification for people with limited direct work experience already employed in the electricity supply industry.  It is also intended for school leavers entering the industry.

The qualification covers generic workplace skills such as communication and safety, and a selection of electricity supply skills directly related to the industry.

Candidates complete the core compulsory unit standards and the electrical strand.

National Certificate in Electricity Supply Electrical with strands in Electricity Supply Electrician, Electrical Fitter, and Electrical Technician 3 The Level 3 qualification is the second part of a progressive career path. The certificate builds on the Level 2 qualification and is intended for people with some work experience in the electricity supply industry. 

Candidates complete the core compulsory unit standards and select the electrician, electrical fitter or technician strand.
National Certificate in Electricity Supply Electrical with strands in Electricity Supply Electrician, Electrical Fitter, and Electrical Technician The Level 4 qualification is the final part of this career path. 

Candidates complete the core compulsory unit standards and continue with their selected strand.

Candidates who have completed the core compulsory standards can apply for electrical registration with the Electrical Workers’ Registration Board.
