Sector leadership investment is made available to the ITO sector  to support ITOs’ distinctive contribution to New Zealand’s network of tertiary education provision. Acting at the interface between industry and training provision, ITOs are in a unique position to provide strategic leadership related to industry training needs. 

Investment is allocated on a project-by-project basis for initiatives that assist ITOs to carry out their skills leadership role across the sector.

ESITO currently has three Sector Leadership Funded (SLF) projects. They are:

• Responsiveness Project 2008 - 2010
• M-Technology 2009 - 2010
• Sustainable Energy in the Domestic and Commercial Environment 2009 - 2011
