Workplace Assessment

Assessment is the process used to evaluate a trainee's competence against the requirements of a unit standard.

Training that takes place in a normal work situation is called on-job training and is assessed by ESITO registered assessors.  There are no grades or marks. The assessor simply decides whether the trainee has achieved or not achieved a unit standard.

When a trainee with a current ESITO training agreement is assessed as competent, the assessor enters the achieved unit standard into ESITO's database.  We then report the result to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

All assessments are subject to moderation.
