To compete in 2010, register your team by 30 July.
This three-day event gives teams of line mechanics the opportunity to test their combined abilities to carry out jobs safely and efficiently, while under the close scrutiny of experienced judges and the pressure of the time clock.
This year's ESITO Line Mechanic Competition will run from 5-7 October at Mystery Creek Events Centre.
Cable jointers who want the opportunity to test their skills can register for the ESITO Cable Jointer Competition.
Why enter?
Bragging rights are at stake, and thanks to our sponsors, more than $10,000 worth of prizes are on offer. But just being part of the competition is a chance to network with other line mechanics and industry experts, practice technical skills and benchmark standards of workmanship. This helps competitors become more safety conscious and ultimately helps raise standards across the industry.
Improved teamwork, cooperation and company pride are other reasons why companies get involved.

What's new this year?
Based on feedback from the 2009 event, we have made some changes.
- This year's teams will get the detailed manual on competition day and not before.
- Some events may look the same, but some of the specific tasks have had a revamp. We have also added five new events.

The winners of each event, and the top three teams overall, will be announced at an awards presentation held at the competition arena on 7 October starting at around 12.15pm.
