Cable Jointer Competition
This year's ESITO Cable Jointer Competition, which runs alongside the line mechanic competition, has attracted a strong line-up of 11 cable jointers from nine companies including:
- Counties Power
- Electricity Ashburton
- Electrix
- Independent Line Services
- Northpower
- Tenix
- Top Energy
- Transfield Services
- WEL Networks.
The competition gets tougher and the honours more sought after every year. Make sure you see the competitors in action at Mystery Creek Events Centre.

- 2 November, 8.00am-4.30pm
- 3 November, 8.00am-3.00pm
The events
Competitors will complete six events designed to test the quality of their workmanship, technical knowledge and safety of their work practices. The events cover:
- first aid
- HV jointing
- LV jointing
- spiking
- testing
- theory.
Awards presentation
The top three competitors will be announced at an awards presentation held at the competition arena on 3 November starting at around 2pm. They will receive complimentary tickets to the ESITO Excellence Awards dinner where the runner-up and winner will be announced .
