26 electricity supply industry employees from 15 member companies received UpSkill Scholarships in 2009. Applications are now open for 2010

ESITO’s UpSkill Scholarships support new career development for employees currently employed in the industry with an ESITO member company. The scholarships fund skill development outside an employee's current training programme.

UpSkill Scholarships aim to help retain employees in the industry and to address the skill shortages identified by the industry and the skills gap research undertaken by the University of Otago for ESITO.

Scholarships may reimburse training and associated costs for:

• National certificates
• National diplomas
• One-off courses
• Secondments
• University undergraduate degrees and postgraduate study.

How to apply?

Please submit the following documents to ESITO.

• A completed ESITO UpSkill Scholarship application form (with the Reference form sent in separately by your employer)
• Your curriculum vitae/resume
• Proof of course enrolment/statement of account (from the Training Provider)
• Company endorsement on letterhead
• Expenses (supported by receipts, invoices etc)
• List of credits to be awarded throughout the year.

Applications are reviewed by a member of the review panel and outcomes notified one month after review is commenced.
