About ESITO
The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) sets national standards and qualifications for the industry, and develops learning resources. We also:
- Make arrangements for training delivery
- Maintain a database of trainees and their learning records
- Arrange quality assurance of training providers, industry trainers and assessors
- Provide leadership on skills and learning issues
- Coordinate the Modern Apprenticeship Programme
- Promote the Electricity Supply Industry as a career choice
- Develop the industry’s skills strategy.
Charter
Like all publicly funded tertiary education organisations, we operate according to a Charter developed in consultation with our stakeholders and approved by the Minister of Tertiary Education.
ESITO's Charter came into effect on 1 January 2004, was renewed in 2005 and will expire on 16 October 2010.

Investment Plan
ESITO's funding is based on a three-year Investment Plan, which is submitted to TEC for approval under its “Investing in a Plan” process. To obtain a summary of the plan, contact us.
